The Homewreckers and are doing it soulful and timeless again. And so does guest remixer Mike Huckaby. Anyone into any sort of deep electronic music has got to own this. “Home Wreckers (Rework)” and “Wreckers (Delight)” on Side A both have the perfect balance of lush pads, a driving kick drum and an awesome scruffy and raw bassline that makes you feel like you live in a perfect world for the duration of the track. Great house music with sublime references to jazz, soul and disco.

“American Ruhr”, recorded at a former convenience store in the heart of Gelsenkirchen, creates an original, absolutely unique sound which seems to come straight out of a feverish dream populated by the ghostlike figures of Larry Graham, Juan Atkins, Frank Hütter, Bernard Edwards, Erik B. or Al Green. Guest appearances at the mic by the fantastic Kemo from Düsseldorf/Chicago, Neil Harris, aka Atlantis, label manager of Underground Resistance, and Dennis Legree from Cologne/N.Y.C make this album complete. The artwork was done by Cory Arcangel, a young digital artist from Brooklyn. The liner notes were written by Kodwo Eshun.
The harmonic and rhythmic advances together with Kemo’s great lyrics make the rework of “American Ruhr” as emotionally contemporary as the latest world crisis. It comes with startingly deep and effective, but subtly structured, shifting rhythms and meters, with great energy, movement and grace. And, most important, with a bassline that will last FOREVER!
The amazing success of their last release „It´s About Time“ challenged the Homewreckers to push their sound a little further out.„Close Your Eyes Til The Morning“ is hardcore groove with a great, burning synth bass that funks along until New York singer Dennis Legree brings some excitement to the proceedings
